Almost from the beginning we started working on fermented wheat germ extract (FWGE). FWGE has been shown to promote healthy oxidative metabolism, and inhibit "non-oxidative metabolism." It also supports the function of genes associated with cell repair and differentiation—the essence of healthy cell function. Age, stress, and injury can upset mechanisms of immune regulation, leading to over activity in some aspects of immune function, and under activity in others. These studies show that FWGE is safe, either taken by itself or in combination with many “standard of care” therapies for cancer and autoimmune disease, improving response to therapy. It provides health benefits by supporting mitochondrial function, inhibiting non-oxidative glucose metabolism, enhancing oxidative glucose metabolism, and supporting mechanisms of immune system regulation.   =2004 we started importing FWGE manufactured in Hungary and sold under the brand name Avemar®.  The inventor asked us to invest in updating FWGE manufacturing technology, and our company set up facilities in Germany and the US and made a more concentrated form of FWGE (took out maltodextrin and crystalline fructose), which we sold under the brand name Ave’Ultra®.  

We also invested in a multi-year collaboration with the NCI Cancer Center at Cold Spring Harbor, NY to undertake assay guided fractionation of FWGE to find the molecules responsible for its health benefits.  Out of the ten thousand or so molecules in whole FWGE we did not find one single molecule that accounts for its health benefits, instead we found a fraction containing approximately 100 molecules which accounted for 100% of FWGE’s biological action.  We named this the  “bioactive fraction,” and it was identified by the code name “A250” in the paper published last year in Nature Scientific Reports, “Mito-oncology agent: fermented extract suppresses the Warburg effect, restores oxidative mitochondrial activity, and inhibits in vivo tumor growth.” https://doi.org/10.1038/s41598-020-71118-3

Extensive published research shows that the ingredient in ImmPower  is safe and non-toxic, and in the context of many types of health challenges, supports peak functioning of Natural Killer (NK) cells.  NK cells make up 10% to 15% of the immune system's white blood cells.  Immunologists named them "Natural Killer Cells." When NK cell function is high, they send out an "all clear" signal to the immune system army, so that immune system resources remain rested and ready until they are needed. When NK cell function is low, the immune system army does not get the "all clear" signal, and is subsequently more active than it needs to be. If it is too active, here can be an over production of compounds, which stimulate white blood cell proliferation, excessive inflammation, and other conditions.

In clinical trials, people taking ImmPower’s primary active ingredient, AHCC, took the equivalent of six capsules per day.
